World Graphic Design day

Behind Brouha is a team full of creative talent and expertise. Everyone brings their own specialities and strengths to the table, creating a combination of invaluable skills that shape the work we deliver.

One person who certainly helps bring all the creativity together is our Graphic Designer, Amy Goddard. Amy joined the Brouha team last year and has brought her experience to a large pool of client projects.

We caught up with her to hear how design can help boost your business and why it plays such a vital role in successful marketing.

Amy says:

“When people think about design, they often picture things like logos, colours, or maybe a sleek website. While those elements are, of course, very important, design goes far beyond aesthetics, it’s one of the most powerful tools you can use to grow your business. It influences the way customers perceive your brand and how easily they make a purchase.

Connecting the dots

“A big part of that comes down to first impressions. For many businesses, design is the first interaction someone has with a brand, whether that’s through a website, social media post, business card or packaging. When something looks polished and professional, it builds trust immediately, and if its poorly designed, people lose interest before they’ve even discovered what the business offers.

“In such a competitive market, that impression also needs to be memorable. Businesses today aren’t just competing on products or services, they’re competing for attention. Therefore, a thoughtful design and unique visual identity will help you stand out and make your business the one customers remember (and return to).

“Another important element is creating a seamless customer experience. Great design is about function, especially online. When a website is user-friendly, it makes it easier for customers to stay engaged. The smoother the experience, the more likely people are to convert, whether that’s making a purchase, booking a service, or signing up for your newsletter.

“Design also helps businesses communicate more effectively. Through layouts, visuals, and infographics, you can present complex ideas in a way that’s easy to digest. For example, well-designed presentations, marketing materials, and ads don’t just look nice, they have been designed to persuade.

“Beyond practicality, design and brand values also have the power to evoke feelings and connect with your audience on a deeper, emotional level. Think about how Apple’s clean, minimal aesthetic conveys innovation and simplicity, or how a cosy cafe’s warm branding makes you feel at home.

“It’s as simple as the placement of a button, the colours on your landing page, or the way your product is presented, which can all subtly influence buying decisions.

Final thoughts

Ultimately, design isn’t just decoration – it's strategy. It influences how people see your business, how they interact with it, and whether they choose you over your competitors.  By investing in great design, you’re not just making things look pretty, you’re building trust, improving customer experiences, and driving growth.”
