As Brouha Marketing celebrates its 20th anniversary, we are also taking the opportunity to celebrate the people who have helped shape the agency and make it what it is today. Having joined the team almost a year ago as Lead Designer, it feels like the perfect time to reflect on my own Brouha journey so far.
Moving from a long-term office-based role into a remote agency position was a significant change, but it has been an incredibly positive and rewarding experience.
One of the biggest changes has been moving into the built environment sector. Before joining Brouha, this was a relatively new industry for me, but over the past year I have developed a much stronger understanding of social housing, construction, manufacturing, sustainability, retrofit and property services.
It has been fascinating to learn more about the challenges facing the sector and to see how strong design and clear communication can help businesses explain complex products, services and ideas. From improving energy efficiency and supporting sustainable manufacturing to creating better homes and communities, the work our clients do has a genuine purpose and impact.
I have particularly enjoyed working with Brouha’s varied and impressive portfolio of clients. Every organisation has its own audiences, objectives and personality, so each project requires a different creative approach. This variety has encouraged me to think more strategically, adapt my design style and continue developing my knowledge of new subjects.
No two days are the same. One day I may be creating a social media campaign, while the next could involve a brochure, report, presentation, animation or complete brand identity. Being involved in such a broad range of work has made the role both challenging and exciting.
A personal highlight has been helping to create Brouha’s new brand identity and website. It was a fantastic opportunity to bring a fresh look and feel to the agency while ensuring the brand reflected its experience, personality and future direction. Seeing the new identity come to life across the website and wider marketing materials has been incredibly rewarding.
LAnother highlight has been becoming part of the Brouha team. Although we work remotely, there is a genuine sense of collaboration and support. Everyone brings their own knowledge, experience and ideas to each project, and I have felt welcomed and valued from the beginning. I love working alongside such a talented team who are passionate about their clients and committed to producing great work.
During the past year, I have also learned to use several new software platforms and adapted to new processes and ways of working. This has made me more versatile and confident in managing projects from the initial brief and creative concept through to final delivery.
Stepping into the Lead Designer role has strengthened not only my creative abilities but also my communication, organisation, decision-making and client management skills. I now feel much more confident as an all-round designer and creative lead.
As we celebrate 20 years of Brouha and recognise the individual team members behind its success, I am proud to be part of the agency’s story. I am grateful to work with such a brilliant team, great clients and businesses making a real difference across the built environment.
Here’s to celebrating the past 20 years - and to everything still to come.
