Chile & Argentina!
Chile is definitely one of the most underrated countries in South America. It’s the home of ethereal landscapes, incredibly rich history, some very friendly dogs and lots of cheap wine! It reminded me of England at times and somewhere I could genuinely see myself living!
A fun fact… Chile is one of the most earthquake prone countries in the world, experiencing at least 8 earthquakes every week, but thankfully most are so small that no one notices!
I didn’t have many expectations about Argentina, apart from its renowned classics, fantastic steak and wine. And I’m pleased to report back that neither disappointed, with plenty of both consumed and enjoyed!
We spent time cycling around Mendoza, visiting many of its lovely vineyards. Although it’s winter here and not quite the season for growing grapes, but it was beautiful nonetheless, however the slightly tipsy cycle back was interesting! We also rode horses through the mountains, which made me think of the Brouha team back at home, as you all know, they are all horse fanatics!
Lots of time was spent wandering around the beautiful cities of Mendoza and Buenos Aires, taking in the wonderful culture! And to round off our time in the country, we visited the Iguazu falls which is the largest waterfall in the world and borders our next country Brazil! The pictures of the falls really don’t do it justice, but it’s without a doubt the most incredible thing I’ve seen so far on this trip!!!
Last, but certainly not least… Brazil!! After just about getting by in Spanish, attempting Portuguese should be interesting, but I can't wait!! Até breve, Brazil!
