The perfect FIT
22nd April 2016
It's hard to believe the FIT Show has come and gone already after months of planning and hard work from all involved.
With a record eight companies from the Brouha stable exhibiting, it's little surprise we had a busy three days spending time with customers on their stands, but we also found time to catch up with industry friends old and new (real life ones – don't ask). We really enjoyed the show and it was great to see all eight customers coming away with positive feedback and strong leads from their many visitors. We even managed to take away some brand new information about members of Team Brouha and their love of even numbers, to coin a new phrase in 'FIT Foot', and to brighten up the after show activities with our Brouha beermats.
Our customers at FIT
As well as promoting its 'In Safe Hands' campaign, CENSolutions hosted the launch of ERC Testing, a sister company to ER Certification, which works in cooperation with TÜV Rheinland Nederland B.V. to provide high quality testing. We also found out that it can be trickier than you might think gathering everyone together for a group photo on a busy stand and Wayne Rogerson nearly ended up being represented by a green coat. DOORCO was consistently busy, as visitors came to see such innovative door designs as the Combi, Smart Door and Farmhouse, and stayed to meet the manufacturers behind them. It's no surprise that their stand was still attracting attention into the closing minutes of the show. We must also say a personal thank you to Jayne Sullivan and Kayley Woods for saving us a Danish pastry!
Fundraising, differentiation and energy saving
GM Fundraising's 'beat the pro' challenge on the WattBike certainly drew some crowds, and it was wonderful to see Hope House Children's Hospices providing support and reminding people what the upcoming Border2Border ride is all about. More than £10,000 was raised throughout the show, including £1,250 from the Synseal raffle on the final day, so a big well done and thank you to everyone involved. Providing added value (as well as coffee, ice cream and bacon rolls) were ODL Europe and RegaLead, with products such as the Built in Blind from ODL Europe and the new ColorLine frame matching service from RegaLead just pipping their shared hospitality stand to the post when it came to visitor numbers. Likewise, the Solaris cocktail bar drew almost as much interest as the Solaris Roof, which combines a fully insulated solid roof with solar PV panels, for a product that can meet up to 75% of a home's electricity requirements. It was also on the Solaris stand that we were presented with our GGF membership certificate from new President, Andrew Glover.
From standing room to standards
With the biggest stand at the show, it was standing room only for Synseal thanks to the popularity of its extensive product range. It's safe to say that everything went down well, and, as anticipated, the launch of the WarmCore aluminium window was a particular highlight for visitors. On to the Wintech Testing & Certification stand, where there was a real buzz from visitors keen to arm themselves with the facts about Secured by Design and Approved Document Q, and the recently launched WinMark Enhanced Security Certification schemes generated a positive response.
The gala dinner
Of course this blog wouldn't be complete without a nod to the spectacular show at the gala dinner which included dancers, acrobats, fire eaters, girls in giant champagne glasses, and delicious food followed by the awards and a disco. Congratulations to all the award winners on the night and of course well done on the generosity of the industry on the charitable donations received.
It's important when exhibiting at a show that you make the right impact, and we have enjoyed helping our customers do this with the right FIT Show strategy, reflected in the right mix of channels for maximum exposure to the right markets. This will follow on with plans in place post-event and for the rest of the year. At the end of a busy week it was good to get home, and of course, back to our desks to begin work on the show follow up. But as we left Telford a little bit tired and aching of foot, there was definitely a feeling of 'bring on Birmingham 2017'.
